Suppose the distances between the drops and the top of the buliding is S1,S2,S3,S4 S1=16 m given, Suppose T is the time interval after which a drop detaches itself from the roof. Then clearly, S1,S2,S3,S4 are covered by the drops D1,D2,D3,D4 in time interval 4T,3T,2T,T drops fall wid zero initial velocity, S=gt^2/2
so for drop D1, t=4T,S=S1=16 m T^2=1/4.9
for drop D2, t=3T, S=S2 S2=4.9*3T^2 plug in for T S2=9m imiliarly for drop D3, t=2T S3=4.9*2T^2=4m
for drop D4 S4=4.9*T^2 S4=1m
so dist between the drops D1 D2 --7m D2 D3--5m D3 D4--3m D4 D5 --1m
