since no one has seen atoms there are many assumptions now if u want to find the velocity of a ball at a particular position u can visualise and apply some formula and get it. if u cant even see an atom how to calculate the exact velocity of it at particular position this is what heisenberg uncertainity principle states it states that the actual velocity and position of the electron cannot be calculated simultaneously
