bcoz science is not that advanced
if u r thinking of utilising the sea waves the ship makes use of it but the speed will be very slow. u could then only move in the direction of waves.
winds were used by earlier sailors but they r very unreliable
From shadows a light shall spring
Renewed shall be blade that's broken
The crown less again shall be king.
