mass per unit length =3/30=0.1
mass of 10cm part=1kg
mass of 20 cm part=2kg
take separate free body diagrams
for left side
contact force F is on right hand side
F-20=0
F=20
for right hand side
32-f-2a=0
therefore
3a-12=0
a=4
contact force=20+1*a
=20+4
=24
