first u understand the meaning of reductive ozonolysis,if alkene reacts with o3 H2O and Zn formation of carbonyl compound takes place because H2O2 formed in the reaction reduce into H20 and ZnO while oxidative means in the absence of Zn so oxidation of carbonyl compd into acids takes place.this cmpd by red. ozonolysis form 2 mole HCHO,2MOLE GYYoxal,1 mole CO2 BUT by oxidative 3 mole CO2,2MOLE OXALIC ACID 2MOLE H20.for detail consult goiit material of alkenes ozonolysis. | |||||||||||||
