c consider wrt to the cylinder ok wrt to itself the cylinder is stationary agreed?? now when the body reaches tht hor pt this is the max hor dist it can travel... @ this pt if it had any hor vel wrt cylinder then it shud be pushing a)the cylinder forward(this is not possible as cylinder is @ rest ) im saying IN FRAME OF CYLINDER and if it had a backward vel then it wud have alredy fallen off so there shud be no hor vel wrt cylinder now return to wrt earth frame the cylinder has horizontal vel =v means the particles hor vel also =v
