let z be the common root then 2az3 + b z2 + cz + d =0 ...............1 and 2az2 + 3bz + 4c = 0........................2 equation 1 is z( 2az2 + bz + c) +d = 0 replace the value of 2az2 from second and replace in 1 2bz2 + 3cz - d =0.......................3 now z is the common root of 2 and 3 its easy afterwards
