the pendulum when touched with +ve plate will acquire +ve charge due to conduction....due to this +ve charge,it will be repelled by the +ve metallic plate....thus making it move towards the negative charge...since the pendulum is +vely charged.....it will be attracted by the -ve charged plate....on touching the negatively charged plate....there will be flow of lectrons in the pendulum...and due to conduction the pendulum will acquire negative charge...it will then be repelled by the negatively charged plate....thus makig it move towards the +ve plate.......again the same process will be continued there.........
thus the motion of the pendulum is that it will stop at the exctreme positions and then again move and again stop at the extreme position
