Many isotopes of different elements are radioactive.
We talk generally abt isotopes that to do not decay really fast.
For example, we wud not talk about some isotope which has a half life in milliseconds because it is very difficult to study it.

In case of tritium, as far as i knw, the half life is quiet high. That is, it decays at a slow rate. So, we can study its bond length and other properties.
