lemme xplain u ma own simple method foe such kinda concepts...
" take any reference point in the circuit, start running in any direction , while crossing a resistance, if ur direction is same as that of current then pot. diff. across that resistance is -iR...and if opposite then +iR.. while crossing a battery, if u go from small plate to large(i.e. from -ve to +ve) then pot. drop is +E and in opposite case -E"
