carbonyl group can be easily converted to hydrocarbon through:-

1) wolff-kishner reacn(N2H4+ alk.KOH)or,

2)clemension reacn(Zn/ Hg + conc. HCl)

use any of these and u ll get toluene from benzaldehyde in a single step.............
