ok assuming the body was at rest at hieght H its total energy was its potential energy=mgH at hieght h its total energy will be constant mgH by law of consetrvation of energy and P.E=mgh P.E+K.E=total energy=mgH and hence P.E=mgh K.E=mg(H-h)
