it's mentioned that sphere is translating......not rolling.....
thats why centrifugal force is not there......
and also even u consider centrifugal force(although its wrong) then also .answer will not differ by this method....because centrifugal force will always perpendicular to direction of motion and hence work done by it = 0 :)
