1. indentify the ropes
2. identify each segment of a rope.
3. for the polleys, blocks, etc fixed at thje ends of the ropes, assign arbitrary acceln in preferably same direction
4. if the distance detween the segments of the strings appear to increase, find the relative acceln between the two ends and assign it + sign, else -sign
5. each string will give a single equation whose solution provides the constraint relation
