See dude you are unnessery arguyinng.. You choose vit over nit and it was your wrong dession and now you cant change it so you are trying to change other people's opinion abt VIT. Most of the students of NITs are those who got qualified in jee but due to lower rank couldn't get anything descent over there. NITs are institutes of national importance . Go to google and search for the keyward NIT followed by the first letter of the place where it is and you will find all sorts of website like wikeopedia , yahoo and all displaying about the gratness of that perticular NIT . Go to google earth just type the name of that nit in the search option and wallaa.. it will directly zoom on the location of the institute .. This is the importance and the power of being of national importance .
Follow the above same procedure for your college and type VIT and nothing will happen or google will start showing the search results of all sorts of weired things having short form as VIT.
See dude i really donot want to hurt anyone's feallings but having seen Both vit and most of the NIT's and having spent 1 year studying in NIT JAipur i know the difference .
The kind of funding which NITs get is just incomparable to any other private college . Ony iit's get funding greater then any NIT .
Regarding NIT durgapur , donot go for the superficial thin gs . You go to any nit you wont get first class painted structures with fully air conditioned classes , even go to any IIT you will find dirty walls , age old furniture , stoneage bathrooms and hostal rooms , but remember great mind and great institutes are independent of these things . Come and see my college or let me take you to IIT kanpur and show the hostels to you , you will easily get fooled that your college hostels are far more beautifil and sophesticated then these but dude when you are judging a college forget this aspect and judge the real thing THE LAbs , The professorrs , the students , the atmospheer...And talking abt the qualification of techers then let me tell you you need to have a minumum of phd degree for applying to the post of professor for NIT's and IIT's..
