yup....chinmay is right......clch2ch2oh is more acidic

just remeber this and use it as a identification.....



ALKYL GROUPS( e donating) decrease acidity and increase basicity...while

HALIDES(e withdrawing) increase acidity and decrease basicty....


 


reason - - inductive effect by e withdrawing grps....
