the ornament weighs 36 g in air . let the weight of copper in it be x and weight of gold in it be 36-x. now specific gravity of gold has been given to us 19.3 so volume occupied by gold in that sample is 36-x/19.3=V1
and volume occupied by copper specific gravity 8.9 is x/8.9=V2
now V1+V2=V the entire volume of the ornament. so boyant force is Vdg. now the ornament weighs 34g in water so the boyant force is 36-34=2*gN
ok so formin the equation we get this
[(36-x/19.3)+(x/8.9)]*1*g=2*g
so we get [(36-x/19.3)+(x/8.9)]=2
be patient and carefully solve this equation you get amt of copper x =2.2grams
