Sir, I am from Maharashtra and faced the same problem in my lower classes. i think you should let your son appear in exams like NTS, MTS(Maharashtra Talent Search), NSTSE, Abacus Vision, NSO, etc. because study for such competitive exams sharpens one's mind, takes you deeper into the subjects and most important, makes one comfortable in solving multiple choice questions, which are the base for most of the future exams. BT has a n IIT preparation course for 9th and 10th. Most important- Let your son enjoy science and know its subtleness which will always remain with him.
