Elementary distance traveled = [(dx)2 + (dy)2]1/2
Total distance traveled = [x=0] [x=1] [(dx)2 + (dy)2]1/2
= [x=0] [x=1] [1 + (dy/dx)2]1/2 dx
You have written that it reaches (1,2) which doesn't lie on curve.
Please post the correct question.
