If u are considering the effects of gravity alone ..............then the situation is never ever possible.................but if we can apply some external agents which perform work on body throuhout its motion then this situation is possible.........For eg. air drag,magnet forces ,electric forces etc. can absorb its kinetic enegy so that on collision with ground it may have zero velocity.........................
