This year's jee was all about testing of basic concept with simple questions . The real challenge was not the questions but the way they were formed. The best way to see this is the matching questions which awards the student full or nill mark only. It awards full only when all the matchings are properly matched which creats the real challenge as its a challenge to link all the possibilities. Few questions are really esay to crack but thses questions can not be the sheer deciding factor about the level of test . All the JEEs so far tested always carried few easy questions. The two papers pattern was to ease down the pressure on the students as it is quite logical to think that the mean of two papers will be considered for all india ranking. However its also possible to think that first paper might be the screening but this is less likely as this is against the prime motto that changed the IIT JEE pattern so drastically last year .
In first paper the maths question carried few lengthy questions and Physics and chemistry questions were good.
The new entry of assertion and resoning type questions also created a big challenge
The pattern strictly prohibits no mug up is allowed for the world class engineers .
Learn things to apply and apply things to learn .
Another interesting point was the second chemistry paper which had hardly any fact based question.
But the point of framing quesion withing the NCERT syllabus was quite visible.
