hi........ a plane is actuli a 2d surface that is perfectly flat. Informally it can be thought of as an infinitely vast and infinitely thin sheet oriented in some space.
n if u r considering refraction dis means dat the plane is dividing the 2 surfaces wid diff. refractive index n soo the incident ray, refracted ray n normal......all will lie in the same plane
