hey rebel ! u hv ststed the second ponit incorrwectly ...itm is the reverse of what u hv stated . LiAlH4 is able to reduce double bonmds which arre inn conjugation with carbonyls. not NaBH4 .
the answer to both the parts is simple . it is based on the electronegitivity difference b/w Al and H becoz of which hydride can be easily given for reduction ( i hope u noe the mechanism )
