Hi Gopi,
What you are talking about is the most common problem in IIT preparation. As I have told earlier on other posts, confidence plays a very major role in IIT exam, So first have a great belief in yourself that you can do it. Until unless you dont have confidence in you, you wont get the optimum results.
First thing to crack problems in IIT exam is, you should be very clear about concepts and must remember all the formulas. As you are saying that you have done that already and not gaining any confidence, then dont try too many unsolved problems. Try to read and understand lot of solved examples, they will give you an insight of how the formulas and techniques should be applied.
The most important thing, dont look what others are doing, you will spend most of your precious time in doing that only. And if within 2-3 tries, you are not able to solve an unsolved problem, leave that for that moment, you wont that much time in IIT exam that you can try a problem 4 times (anyways, to get into IIT you dont have to answer all the questions ).
Let us know, how can we help you better. Best of luck
