ok this is my answer to those who think harry isn't a horcrux.
first let me refresh your minds about what is given in the books.
killing rips the soul,there is no need for a spell.the spell is required to direct the ripped soul into a different object which has to be performed simultaneously with the killing curse(slughorn's pensieve,half blood prince).
To destroy a part of soul you need not destroy the object in which the soul is present(eg;ring).thus there is no danger to harry's life..
voldy arrives at godric's hollow with the intention of making a horcrux with harry's death.he kills james(and thus voldy's soul is already divided but a spell is required for it to leave voldy's body) and goes for harry without intending to harm lily(guess why?).lily comes in way,gets killed and thus gives harry a love protection.voldy next tries to kill harry(and simultaneously performs the spell to direct his soul)but the spell backfires because of lily's protection.due to back firing the spell which is cast to direct the soul into the intended object misses it's target and hits harry near his forehead.voldy doesn't know his soul hit harry.that's why he makes another horcrux which is nagini.
i mean voldy is unaware of the horcrux in harry(he is so immersed in evil that he doesn't feel his soul:Dumbledore,book:half blood prince) untill recently.he feels the horcrux in harry when he tries to possess him in the ministry of magic in 5th book.after that there has been no attempt by voldy to kill harry.hope i cleared the objections of karthik_abiram and saarika .these are the thoughts of a majority of members in a major hp fan site.any doubts i will be happy to clarify.i am ready to answer many other questions.eg;why do many people still think that snape is on Dumbledore's side?why regulus is R.A.B?etc.
