Eligibility Physics, Chemistry, Biology :
All students of Class XII and below (science stream) are eligible to appear for NSEs. A student may appear for more than one as per the examination schedule. Students who have passed Class XII are not eligible.
Astronomy:
For the Junior level, students should be in Class IX or below as of January 1 2007. They should be born between January 1, 1992 and December 31, 1993.
For the Senior level, students should be in Class X or Class XI as of January 1, 2007. They should be born between January 1, 1990 and December 31, 1991.
Syllabus
The syllabus for NSE is broadly equivalent to the senior secondary level (Class XI and Class XII) of CBSE. This is only a rough guideline, and there is no detailed syllabus given for NSE.
