ok guys... the stuff mentioned by guys along with the really constructive discussions. suggestions by Prakriteesh and faradewaals are really commendable.. jotting down the culprits or issues as we state it:

1. rank prediction questions spree... like "got xyz in abc.. will i get pqr"?
2. community shelf fun articles..
3. the nudgebook being used to chit-chat than to ping people for queries.
4. the altitude hogging issues - people wanting and trying to get more n more rates.

So here's my take on the same:

1. About rank predictions: however hard we try. its not possible to stop people form asking predictions... thats the problem with democracy :) but yes, we can atleast start giving the counselling queries less precidence soon... atleast not giving focus on homepage woul be a good idea for all.

2. community shelf fun articles - thats another burning issue. i think the commuinty shelf would have two separate sections - one for fun articles and other for academic. the breakup will happen soon.

3. The nudgebook. i think its a very strong toolfor people to interact, members do not get enough ways to interact at all. private messages/pms are exactly the same things. only thing is that there it becomes more secret, and its not a good idea. thats exactly we have no secret mailings.

4. altitude: reputaion is also a great concept, but i think altitude rocks when you ened to know the right answer out fo a thousand to a post. however, there will always be people who will by pass the system. so you guys will have to be more vigilant and make it clear to the moderaiton panel, when you come across any such instance.

#also the separate fun section thing was a thought initialy, but we do not want a dedicated fun area, as then the whole concept of blending fun and studies will go away. we'll just try a good blend of both, criss crossed in a way that each one finds what he/she wants, and along the way gets interested in the other thing.

# we cant do weekly tests for now, since i'm not sure f we hav the resources/funds for now... but we'll have discussions around this and try to see f anything can be done.

# we are soon planning to start a school/ city circle, where you can be divided into groups and we can have group counsellors. that way guidence would be a lot easier.
