for the first problem:
apply equation of motion to find acceleration of the block
 
v2 = u2 + 2as
0 = (10)2 + 2a(5)
a = -10
 
from the fbd
mgsinx - mgcosx = ma
 
replacing the values of a and
sinx - 4root3cosx = -1
cosx = -2root3 + root14 = 0.286
 
x=16o
