WBJEE Eligibility Criteria

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) Eligibility Criteria:
Students who are Citizen of India and have attained the age group of 17-24 years are only eligible for West Bengal JEE examination. The minimum qualification eligibility required by candidates is higher secondary (10+2 with aggregate of 50% marks for general and 40% for SC/ST in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biological Sciences. All categories are required to score 30% marks in English compulsorily. Candidates must obtain pass marks all the subjects including the fifth additional or vernacular subject to get admission into any of the west bengal jee engineering courses (wb jeeCourses) offered that includes:
1. B.E/ B.Tech./B.Arch
2. M.B.B.S/B.D.S/B.V.Sc
3. Pharmacy
In addition, candidates must secure at least minimum marks in each subject including vernacular subject as mentioned below, then only candidates will get admission:
1.) B.E/B. Tech./B. Arch :Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and vernacular or any other fifth subject.
2.) M.B.B.S/B.D.S. : Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and vernacular or any other fifth subject.
3.) PHARMACY: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology, English and vernacular or any other fifth subject.
4.) For MBBS and BDS courses : In addition to the aforementioned eligibility criteria, the general candidates must have to secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biological Sciences taken together (40% for SC/ST) in the Joint Entrance Examination, W.B.
Age Criteria West Bengal Entrance:
West Bengal engineering entrance applicant must be between 17 years and 24 years of age on 31st December 2011. There is no upper age limit except for the Marine course for which the upper age limit is 25 years as on 31.07.2011.
Domicile Requirements:
For admissions into any of the wbjee courses offered by Government Engineering / Technological Colleges / State Universities, candidate must be resident of West Bengal for the time period of not less than 10 (ten) years continuously or their parents must be permanent resident of West Bengal having their permanent home address in West Bengal.
Reservation: Reservation for SC/ST/PC candidates are as per State Govt. Rules.
