Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE):

Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) is conducted for admission to the first year B.Sc (Engineering)/ BTech (Agri. Engg & Dairy Tech) courses. Bihar combined entrance competitive exam is constituted by government of Bihar in accordance to competitive examination Act 1995. Bihar engineering board or Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECEB) presently conducts the competitive entrance examinations for the graduation level courses like- engineering, medical and agriculture streams available in the university, Colleges and Institutions of the State of Bihar as well as those situated outside Bihar against state quota seats. The Board presently conducts Combined Competitive Entrance Examinations (BCECE) for admission in Graduate level Vocational Courses in Engineering streams available in the Universities, Colleges and Institutions of the State of Bihar as well as those situated outside Bihar against State Quota seats.

1.) Engineering Courses,
2.) Pharmacy Courses ,
3.) Medical Degree Courses

B.Tech & B.Sc. courses in Engineering and Pharmacy courses are available in the Govt. /Govt. Recognized Technical Institutions of Bihar and Technical Institutions outside Bihar (State Quota). Medical Stream like MBBS/ BDS/ BAMS/ BHMS/ BUMS/ B.Ph.T./ B.Th.O. in government colleges of Bihar and in other similar courses of this stream. Agriculture stream is available in Rajendra Agricultural University, Pusa. The degree course programmes in which the candidate will study at the undergraduate level will depend on the choice of the subjects. The choice of engineering papers in the BCECE exam depends on the subject combination that a candidate has studied at qualifying level.

Selection Procedure in Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination:

Selection is made on merit in BCECE conducted at various centres in the State. The test is held usually in the month of May/ June. Separate merit list is prepared for general/reserved categories. List of successful candidates is notified in leading State newspapers /colleges.

BCECE Exam Pattern:

Total BCECE entrance test duration will be of three hours consisting of questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Maths/ Biology of 1 hour duration each. The questions in the BCECE exam are based on the subjects of HSC (10+2) examination. Candidates appearing for engineering programs have to study for all the theories and basics of subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, along with Biology. Besides, those who wish to take admission in Medical and Agricultural programs, have to study Physics, Chemistry and Biology along with Mathematics of the qualifying examination. The medium of BCECE admission test is in English only.

Qualification Criteria BCECE Entrance:

(A.) Educational & Domicile Criteria

(i.) Candidates must be an Indian citizen.
(ii.)Candidates must have passed the Intermediate exam (10+2) with Chemistry, Physics and Maths as subjects or an equivalent exam.
(iii.) 12th standard appearing Student are also eligible.

(B.)Age limit For BCECE Exam:

(i.) For Engineering/ Pharmacy Stream, there is no minimum age limit
(ii) For Medical Stream, the minimum age must be 17 years as on 31st December, 2012 ,

(iii) For Agriculture Stream, the minimum age must be 17 years as on 1st July, 2012.
