It is a normal diffusion process. There is a change in the pressure & volume of the gas but the temperature remains constant. Also, no work is done in the volume expansion of the gas as the other chamber is vaccum. From the first law of thermodynamics, as the work done and temp. change is zero, so the net energy change is also zero. Cheers !! |
