Rate of change of acceleration is called jerk( Jerk is a vector, and there is no generally used term to describe its scalar magnitude. The units of jerk are metres per second cubed (Metres per second per second per second, m/s3 or ms-3). There is no universal agreement on the symbol for jerk, but j is commonly used. It is the derivative of acceleration or second derivative of velocity and third derivative of position. |
