Thanx for your response to my earlier articles on this topic. here goes the last one GROUP 18 ( noble gases) ü all inert gases.infact, no true compounds of He, Ne or Ar are known. ü Rn is radioactive. ü general configuration ns2 np6 except He ( 2s2 ) ü atomic radius ↑down the group ü I.E.↓down the group but its highest in their respective periods. ü no tendency to accept electron Þhighly +ve electron gain enthalpy ü all are monoatomic, colourless, odourless, tasteless and have very low M.P. & B.P. which ↑down the group ü He has lowest B.P. in periodic table and can diffuse through rubber, glass and plastics. ü Only the compounds of Xe have been studied in detail. It forms many compounds with F & O. KrF2 is the only compound of Kr studied in detail. Compounds of Rn have not been isolated but identified (RnF2). ü oxidation states: Xe :+2,+4,+6,+8 hope you get benefited. leave your comments so that I can further improve my articles.
