ok rohit... i dont know nor do i care if newtons third law holds, but ill tell you this.. evry body resists a change in anything(newton first law) so all the forces on the block will do anything they can to stop even a toppling motion.(this is the answer to the second reply of yours)
DUDE!!! torque is producing a circle like motion on the centre of mass.IT IS RESPONSIBLE for the arc like motion!!!! i thought i had put this across then.. your acceler in y direction is through torque.
we split the motion in 2 parts simply becuase the combined motion is sooooooooooooo complex nobody can visualise it..(look for CYCLOID, it is the trajectory of a particle on the circumference of a circle which is rotating on a level ground, AND translating at the same time).
when u say independent of each other, i dont know what you mean.. for a perfectly rolling body, velocity of centre of mass = rw, and the body translates with velocity of centre of mass.. i cant understand this.
i explained all this in the first post, it should be clear now.
