Here are some useful stuff u might find useful ...

1. Methane can't be prepared by Corey house rxn , Frankland rxn , Wurtz rxn & Kolbe's electrolysis

2. LPG = Propane + Butane

3. Cracking : CH4 --------> in Cr2O3 + Al2O3 -----------> C + H2

4. Pyrolysis : CH4 --------> Heating -----------------> C+ H2

5. Isomerisation : CH3CH2CH2CH3 ------------> in AlCl3 + HCl + Heat------------> isobutane

6. Aromatization : Hexane -------------------> in Cr2O3 + Al2O3 + Heat + Pressure ---------------> Benzene + 3 H2

7. Knocking is caused due to irregular burning of fuel. TEL = tetraethyl Lead = Anti-Knock Compd

8. H2SO4 , P2O5 , H3PO4, Al2O3 are all dehydrating agents .

9. Stereoselectivity - Formation of more stable isomer (like from cis & trans)

Regioselectivity - Formation of more stable compd ( Like from Hoffmann & Saytzeff product)

10. trans + syn addition -----------> Racemic Mixture

trans + anti addition -----------> Meso Compd

Cis + syn addition -----------> Meso Compd

Cis + anti addition -----------> Racemic Mixture

11. Alkenes + peracids --------------> epoxide

12. Alkenes + peracids/H2O2 --------------> Anti addition of H2O2 ( ie two -OH groups)

13. Selenium Dioxide ( SeO2) selectively oxidises only allylic position ......propene ------SeO2-------> prop-1-en-3-ol

14. NBS ( N-bromo succinimide) os specifically used for allylic bromination of alkenes .
