here is an example..i am taking a easy onex^2 + y^2 = r^2 then always shift everything towards LHStherefeore we have x2 + y2 - r 2 = 0now dy / dx = - ( treat y as constant and differentiate wrt to x ) / ( treat x as constant and differentiate wrt to y ) = dy / dx = - ( 2x / 2y ) = -x / y .. ( look in numerator we have y as constant hence its differentiation beocomes 0 and in denominaotor we hace x as constant hence its differentiation becomes 0 ) this is an simple Q hence method is not useful here...however in big Q it is quite effective .
