let y= x2 + 2x + 1 or, x2 + 2x + (1 - y) = 0 now if x is real, D>=0 or, 4 - 4(1 - y)>=0 or,1-1+y>=0 or, y>=0 so, minimun value of x2 + 2x +1 is 0 maximum value can also be found out like this. if a>=1 the given euation will hav minimum value an din other cases it will hav maximun value. for drawing the graph of the expression, the following way may help: let y= x2 + 2x + 1 now for evry value of x u get a value of y.plot them in the graph paper and u get ur graph. rate me plz if it helps |
