Five step method for attaining goals..
I have always been facsinated by this.. how to achieve my goals.. how to overcome my laziness and complacency.. how to take out the best of myself..
Although i never myself really tried to achieve that
!! I was a little satisfied with what i was doing, not knowing that i had immense potential and capability to achieve anything i wished (all of us have!). As they say, 'complacency kills'. It was killing me! I believe many people can relate to this (though i wish not
). So here's something for all of us, these magic formulae for attaining your goals..!! (believe me, it works!)
These are the five methods,
The first one being; form a clear mental picture of the outcome. Supposing your dream is to be an IITian, imagine yourself to be one! when you get up in the morning, envision yourself in IIT.. a clear mental image will give you motivation.
Second one is to put some positive pressure on yourself.. the main reason we dont follow our resolutions is that we make it too easy for ourseleves to slip back into our old ways!! The best way is to take a public pledge. Tell everyone that you will do a certain thing, this will automatically create a pressure on you.
Now coming to the third, never set a goal without attaching a timeline to it. Do it within time, no excuses! (the timeline should be a practical one, else it wont bring anything other than disappointment)
A very important method is to write all your aims, goals and plans on a paper. for example, you may write your plans for the day or week, clearly indicating what topics you have to cover. This will really help.
The last one is important: stick to your routine for atleast 21 days. This is the Magic rule of 21. Like, say, you plan to study 7 hours a day.. follow this continuosly for atleast 21 days.. then it will be installed into your routine.. now it wont be difficult for you!
I know it might have been a tedious task to read all this.. but believe me if you did.. you wont regret that.
Start practising it from now on, and you will be startled by results!!
best of luck to all of you!
