Physics-stop and go light
Can you reduce the speed of light .If this question would have been asked before 1999 then the people would have considered it a mad approach. How can you reduce the speed of light.                                                                      This has been made possible by Lene hau and her colleagues at harvard universit   more ...

Faster than light?
Ok mates, the following is not my work but is an excerpt from an MIT college professor's PhD thesis.     **********************   The other day i was explaining the relativity theory to a friend. At the speed of light, any object would have infinite mass so would need infinite energy to make it go faster."This means that there is a maximum speed at which anything can travel, and only massless things like light can travel at that speed," I explained. My friend is very bright, and after a little thought he came up with three situations that semmed to contradict Einstein. Is any of them valid? 1. The poles outside barber shops have helical stripes p   more ...

light travels in straight line
Light does appear to travel in straight lines In a dusty atmosphere it is sometimes possible to see light travelling and it does appear to be moving in a straight line. The fact that light travels can be demonstrated by putting an object in its path. If the object is opaque the result is a degree of blackness on the other side of it which is due to the absence of the light. The dark area is a shadow. As light does appear to travel in straight lines then light is usually modelled as straight lines in drawings. This can sometimes be very confusing because to make the explanatory diagrams easier to understand the light from source is usually depicted as just   more ...
