Astroids
AsteroidsAsteroids, also called minor planets or planetoids, are a class of astronomical objects. The term asteroid is generally used to indicate a diverse group of small celestial bodies that drift in the solar system in orbit around the Sun. Asteroid (Greek for "star-like") is the word used most in the English literature for minor planets, which has been the term preferred by the International Astronomical Union; some other languages prefer planetoid (Greek: "planet-like"), because it more accurately describes what they are. In late August 2006, the IAU introduced the term "small solar system bodies" (SSSBs), which includes most objects thus far classified as mino   more ...

Cloud in a Bottle Have you ever wondered how clouds form?
Cloud in a Bottle Have you ever wondered how clouds form? Have you ever wondered how clouds form? Clouds are formed when water vapor is cooled enough to form tiny water droplets. This is exactly what happens when moist air rises in the atmosphere, cools, and water droplets form into clouds. Making your own cloud is a popular experiment in many science books, but you should know that the results are not very striking. Yes, you'll see a very faint cloud (very faint), but it's a little tricky. Materials 1-liter, clear plastic bottle with cap , water, matches Adult supervision is required! Experiment Video 1. don't copy if u can't paste
Don't copy if you can't paste Not too long ago, a large seminar was held for ministers and reverends in training.Among the facilitators were many well-known motivational speakers. One such speaker boldly approached the pulpit and, gathering the entire crowd's attention, said, "The best years of my life were spent in the arms of a woman who wasn't my wife!"The crowd was shocked! He followed up by saying, "That woman was my mother!"The crowd burst into laughter and he gave his speech, which was well received.About a week later, one of the ministers who had attended the seminar decided to use that joke in his sermon. As he shyly approached the pulpit one sunny Sunday,   more ...

Never give up!Never compromise!
As I was passing the elephants, I suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not.         I saw a trainer near by and asked why these beautiful, magnificent animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. "Well," he said, "when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it's enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot   more ...

A poem Check it out
BIN BULAYE MERI ZINDAGI ME KYON AA GAYE HO Bin bulaaye meri zindagi mein, Aise kyon aa gaye ho.   Tujh mein koi khaas baat bhi nahi, Phir bhi aise kyon bhaa gaye ho.   Duniya meri wiraan to nahi thi, Iss ko aa kar aise kyon sajaa gaye ho.   Khushi ka izhaar maine kiya hi nahi, Ankhon mein dekh kar,   Aise kyon muskuraa gaye ho. Umeed nahi jiss sadaa ki mujhko, Mujhe sadaa aise kyon sunaa gaye ho. Khilti bahaar mein khizaa ki umeed nahi, Phir barsaat ki taraah aise kyon chaa gaye ho. Hasil hai mujhko zamaane ki daulatein, Mohabbat ki daulat aise kyon lutaa gaye go. Na akelepan ki shiqayat, naa hi tanhai ka ilm, Phir   more ...

values are never lost
A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?"Hands started going up.He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this." He proceeded to crumple the dollar bill up.He then asked, "Who still wants it?"Still the hands were up in the air."Well," he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.He picked it up, now all crumpled and dirty. "Now who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air."My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. N   more ...

Forgiveness
ForgivenessOnce upon a time two brothers who lived on adjoining farms fell intoconflict. It wasthe first serious rift in 40 years of farming side by side, sharing machinery, andtrading labor and goods as needed without a hitch. Then the longcollaboration fell apart. It began with a small misunderstanding and it grew into a major difference, and finally itexploded into an exchange of bitter words followed by weeks of silence. One morning there was a knock on John's door. He opened it to find a manwith acarpenter's toolbox. "I'm lookin   more ...

the obstacles in our path
In ancient times, a king had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it.Many loudly blamed the king for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the big stone out of the way. Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. On approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. As the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he n   more ...

Bunking Classes???
"Everything that has a beginning, has an end" In Matrix Revolutions, Agent Smith said that "Everything that has a beginning has an end.".And technically speaking, college has truely come to an end. But there may be certain things that won't end for certain people like friendship and love. And there may be things that didn't start but still sadly ended.                                                                          more ...

Kiran Bedi
Care, Not Cane   The police , who are supposed to be the custodians of society?s law and order have often earned people?s disdain on account of the abusive language they use in addition to the use of punishing canes, as well as money extraction, bribery and custodial deaths. Here was a police officer with a difference--- she won people?s hearts! Kiran Bedi first became famous as India?s first IPS officer. In the early 1980?s she was appointed as Delhi?s Deputy Commissioner of Traffic. When she noticed rampant violation of parking regulations, Bedi hired 16 cranes and had the offending vehicles towed away, including cars that belonged to VIPs. Although the e   more ...

five point someone
If you are an IITian, you will probably relate very well to this light-hearted narrative about the life of three average guys at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (And if you are an IITian you would also know what ?average? in IIT means). If you are not an IITian, you will still enjoy this book like I did (I am not even a techie). The book may be about life in IIT, but the characters are as interesting as in any other book and are very un-IIT like (That says a lot). According to the author, Chetan Bhagat, this book is not about how to get into IIT or what to do once you are in, but what not to do there. The autobiographical account lends itself to fine cha   more ...

average marks..... eye opener
Every parent cares about their children?s academic grades. Grades are calculated on their marks. But how many parents really understand the meaning of average marks ? If there are 40 students in a class and the average mark is 70. If a student got 75 marks, will the parents grateful because the student are above average ? If they thought that getting marks above the average means better off than half of the students, then they were seriously wrong. Take for an example: If the marks for this 40 students are as follow: 100 - 1 ppl 95 - 2 ppl 90 - 4 ppl 85 - 10 ppl 80 - 12 ppl 75 - 1 ppl 35 - 3 ppl 30 - 2 ppl 20 - 5 ppl The average mark is 70. However. students w   more ...
