NEW DELHI: Directors of the seven IITs will meet on Wednesday to discuss how to implement 27 per cent quota for the OBCs which has been given the go-ahead by the Supreme Court. "There are several issues to be discussed. But the main issue is to chalk out a strategy to implement the OBC reservation," IIT Delhi director Prof Surendra Prasad said. The IIT directors will meet in the morning, while the IIT-JEE chairman and others from the Board of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) would meet in the evening to discuss how to fix the cut-off marks of the entrance test to accommodate the OBC students. Because of OBC's there is every chance of an institutional degradation. I get 98% and an OBC or SC/ST gets 80% or 85%; those people get the seats and I am pushed off my expected bright future. This is an unfair judgement by the supreme court and is greatly degrading the society. Instead of this Government could have given some incentives like free education, free educational funding for higher studies if you get some 80% above we will give you education free of cost in what ever College or University you join.
