LET'S HANDLE" CALCULUS"THE HEART OF MATHS.......
STUDY TIPS FOR CALCULUS   Manage your time properly. Math does require lots of focussed, diligent, hard work. By focussed I mean - find a quiet place, turn off the tv, msn, sms, etc., and do your math then! No talking on the phone, no internet. Plan for breaks, stretch, have a snack, but make it short. Doing math is frustrating, at times it might look overwhelming. Do not rush thorugh the material. It is better to cover 2/3 of it well than to rush through just to make sure that you 'covered' all of it. THINK on the test/exam ... works better than trying to recover things from memory! Memorizing things without understanding   more ...

LOVE LETTER BY A MATHEMATICIANDe-Morgan's Law,Binomial Avenue,United States of Matrices. My Dear Love,Yesterday, I was passing by your rectangular house in trigonometriclane. There I saw you with your cute circular face, conical nose andspherical eyes, standing in your triangular garden. Before seeing you myheart was a null set, but when a vector of magnitude (likeness) from youreyes at a deviation of theta radians made a tangent to my heart, it differentiated. My love for you is a quadratic equation with real roots, which only youcan solve by making good binary relation with me. The cosine of my lovefor you extends to infinity. I promise that I should not resolve you   more ...

Y CBSE donot give us proper education for cracking III JEE
The IIT-JEE (joint entrance exam) is one of the toughest competitive exams in the world. Every year over 1,75,000 students appear in it while only 3500 manage to clear. The fact that only 2 per cent students get through despite professional coaching and rigorous hard work speaks volumes about its high standards. Papers are set on a totally unpredictable pattern. Not even a single question has been repeated in this examination for the past 30 years. A wrong answer invites negative marking. Only a thorough and systematic preparation can be a guide to achieve success. The IIT examination checks the analytical approach and understanding ability of the students. Cram   more ...

IIT Preparation - consider this
Your preparation should be like this: * First make a timetable for ur preparation * Follow the routine - dont break it in the middle * Should have self confidence (MUST) * Find time atleast 8 hrs daily for studying. * Also keep in mind to play (for me its cricket daily at 5 pm to 6.30) * Be cool always  * Join for some correspondence course (such as narayans) * Study also the NCERT books * Spend some time in goiit website - interact with friends * For physics - HV Verma's is a mustBEST WISHES FOR UR EXAMS ....   more ...

IITians are Big FOOLS! Said not by a failed aspirant, but by an IITian himself.
'IITians Are Big Fools'          No, it wasn't a frustrated or failed aspirant but a former IITian who said this last week at a lecture while addressing a crowd of nearly a thousand IITians and other college students during the annual Techfest at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB). But coming from Dunu Roy, who, unlike his colleagues and peers, decided to pursue grassroot integration of technology with local and practical requirements, it shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone who has followed this IITian's career.   But for a first-timer, the 90-minute talk and the subsequent Q&A could well have been an eye-   more ...

ONE PARA THAT EXPLAINS LIFE !!!
ONE PARAGRAPH THAT EXPLAINS LIFE!Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player was dying of AIDS which he got due to infected blood he received during a heart surgery in 1983. From world over, he received letters from his fans, one of which  conveyed: "Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease"? To this Arthur Ashe replied: The world over -- 5 crore children start playing tennis, 50 lakh learn to play tennis, 5 lakh learn professional tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5000 reach the grand slam, 50 reach Wimbledon, 4 to semi final, 2 to the finals, When I was holding a cup I never asked GOD "Why me?". And today in pain I should not be asking GOD "Wh   more ...

My friends success to IITs
HE USED TO SAY THIS:-   Life is different than teacher,A teacher teaches lesson & then keeps the exam. But the life keeps the exam first & then teaches the lesson. Winning horse doesnt knw y it runs in race,it runs bcoz of beats n pains....Life is race;god is ur rider..So if u r in pain then think,GOD wants u to win the race.. Train your mind to acquire silence. Because if the mind is silent, there is a great possibility of clarity in the thoughts... life is lik cotton- dnt make it heavierby sinkin in water of sorrow, but makeit lighter by letting it in d wind of joy........ when life throws lemons on u, make lemonades, wn it throws scraps, make a quilt   more ...

Review : Classification of Polymers
Classification of Polymers Thermoplastic PolymersThese are linear, one-dimensional polymers which have strong intramolecular covalent bonds and weak intermolecular van Der Waals bonds. At elevated temperature, it is easy to "melt" these bonds and have molecular chains readily slide past one another. These polymers are capable of flow at elevated temperatures, can be remolded into different forms, and in general, are dissolvable. A thermoplastic, under the application of appropriate heat, can be melted into a "liquid" state.   Thermosetting PolymersThese are three-dimensional amorphous polymers which are highly crosslinked (strong, covalent intermolecular bon   more ...

State whether the following are true or false.   1. There exists a field of order 60.   2. The number of abelian groups of order n is an increasing  function of n.   3. Any Lebesgue integrable function on [0,1] is Riemann integrable.   4. The function f : C ? C, f(z) = |z|3, is complex analytic at 0.   5. The function f : R ? R, f(x) = |x|3, is differentiable at 0.   6. Let p : R2 ? R be the map p(x, y) = x. Then p maps closed sets to closed sets.   7. R2 can be expressed as a countable union of straight lines.   8. x4 + 1 is irreducible over Q . 9. Let f : C ? C be once differentiable everywhere. Then   more ...

Review : Fibonacci Sequence
Calculating the Fibonacci Sequence Is there a formula that can be used to calculate the nth Fibonacci number? For example, if we want to know the 100th Fibonacci number, do we have to count one by one?  The answer to the first question is, "Yes, but ..."  The answer to thesecond question is, "No."  Now for the explanations!  Sorry they areso long. The standard formula for the Fibonacci numbers is due to a Frenchmathematician named Binet.  If F(n) represents the nth Fibonacci number, then:       F(n) = (a^n - b^n)/(a - b) where a and b are the two roots of the quadratic equation x^2-x-1 =   more ...

Integration of the Universe
Integration methods The following differential equation is going to be solved. (6.3) This differential equation is transformed into an algorithm-dependent finite difference equation by quantizing and replacing (6.4) by the following equation. (6.5) There are several linear single- and multi-step numerical integration methods available, each having advantages and disadvantages concerning aspects of stability and accuracy. Integration methods can also be classified into implicit and explicit methods. Explicit methods are inexpensive per step but limited in stability and therefore not used in the field of circuit simulation to obtain   more ...
