MAKING A RIGHT CHOICE...
NEVER COMPROMISE       Quite often we find it hard to choose the right career track / course for ourselves. Being influenced heavily by the market trends, streams in great demand; we often join a short term / long term course and after its completion jump into the wrong career line we do not have the natural inclination of. We join a course or a training to learn about a field with which our heart is not convinced; and that's the seed of a 'dissatisfaction tree' which keeps on growing with passage of time in our lives.A little soul searching before joining any course / training or choosing a career can prevent us from this wrong beginning.Gone are   more ...

TACKLING FEAR.....
FEAR THE FEAR     We all experience butterflies in stomach in different circumstances and we learn to come over them ourselves. On any exam day, we often see varied behavior in students standing outside the exam room. Some are sitting huddled in some corner with their small pieces of paper notes; some are discussing some points/facts in their own small groups; some are posing as if there's nothing special today; while some are just bullying others.Well, none can ever say what is the level of preparation with each of the students appearing for the exam and how one should behave. You are free to act the way you feel comfortable. The point is jus   more ...

TIPS FOR EXAMS
TIPS FOR EXAMS     Fortunately or unfortunately, competitive exams have become a strict norm for selection to various professional courses in our country. Notwithstanding the demerits of such a system, competitive exams are a reality for the lakhs of students who appear in them every year. In such a scenario, everyone wants to success. Success in these exams brings immense glory and confidence to the individuals, besides giving them a clear cut break into the career line of their choice. However, seats are limited and not everyone who appears can be selected. This does not mean that those who are not selected do not deserve a training in these cour   more ...

how a nuclear bomb works
There are two main types of bombs which release energy from the nuclei of atoms. The simplest kind is an atomic bomb. Like a nuclear power plant, it releases great quantities of energy through a process called nuclear fission, or 'splitting', of a large unstable (radioactive) element like uranium or plutonium.A more complicated type is the hydrogen bomb, or thermonuclear bomb, which releases an even greater quantity of energy through nuclear fusion, a process which has not yet been put to peaceful uses. The purpose of this page is to explain how each type of device works, from a physics perspective. The devices described here are the original designs, perhap   more ...

Polymers
Synthesis of Addition Polymers All the monomers from which addition polymers are made are alkenes or functionally substituted alkenes. The most common and thermodynamically favored chemical transformations of alkenes are addition reactions. Many of these addition reactions are known to proceed in a stepwise fashion by way of reactive intermediates, and this is the mechanism followed by most polymerizations. A general diagram illustrating this assembly of linear macromolecules, which supports the name chain growth polymers, is presented here. Since a pi-bond in the monomer is converted to a sigma-bond in the polymer, the polymerization reaction is usually exothermic   more ...

ALL ABT PROJECTILE
PROJECTILE What follows is a general solution for the two dimensional motion of an object thrown in a gravitational field. This is usually termed a projectile motion problem. The thrown object is called the projectile. Its path is called the trajectory. We will answer all the usual questions that arise in a first year physics class regarding this motion. We will not consider air resistance. Without air resistance, the projectile will follow a parabolic trajectory. We will be throwing the projectile on level ground on planet Earth. It will leave the point of release, arc through the air along a path shaped like a parabola, and then hit ground a certain distance   more ...

RESOLUTION OF VECTOR
RESOLUTION OF VECTOR The word components, in the following context, means parts. So, to talk about the components of a vector, we mean the parts of a vector.   For a great amount of situations the important parts of a vector are it's x-part and its y-part, or its x-component and its y-component. Here we will see how to find the x-component and the y-component of a vector.   The vector we will use in the following discussion is a force vector. The methods shown here, though, are true for any vector, such as a displacement, velocity, or acceleration vector. Here on the (x, y) set of axes is the force vector that we will be dealing with:   more ...

Frontier Molecular Orbital Thoery
Frontier Molecular Orbital theoryApart from electrostatic interactions, the overlap between orbitals may favour the reaction between an electron donor and an electron acceptor. A high (in energy) lying occupied orbital in the donor may overlap with a low lying empty one in the acceptor, leading to a net stabilization. The strength of the interaction is determined by: the energy difference between the two orbitals involved (the smaller the better). the amount of overlap between the orbitals (the larger the better). These effects can account for the subtle differences that are found in facial selectivity, caused by steric effects which hinder overlap, o   more ...

Know your rank in AIEEE-07
Hi friends ! i know u all must be tensed after the AIEEE paper. By this time u all must have checked your answers from some good institute and must be aware what your score will be. But what about rank ? Can i get into NIT ? Can i get a good college? All these questions must be scratching u.         Well i have talked to some of my senior friends, counterparts, teachers and  many others. What they have told me about ranks in AIEEE, i am going to discuss now.         Every year in AIEEE, AIR 1 is one who has done around 90% of his paper accurate. For   more ...      [ 1, 2 ]

Analytical geometry made easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here are some shortcuts which you should never ever forget! 1)Area of the triangle made by the line ax+by+c=0 and the co ordinate axes is c2/(2ab)   2)Area of the rhombus formed by ax(+or-)by(+or-)c=0 is 2c2/ab   3)If ABCD is parallelogram then D=A-B+C Eg:If (1,6),(2,5),(5,1) are three vertices of a parallelogram then fourth vertex is (1-2+5,6-5+1) ie(4,2)   4)The foot of the perpendicular (h,k) from (x1,y1) to the line ax+by+c=0 is given by (h-x1)/a=(k-y1)/b= -(ax1+by1+c)/(a2+b2)   5)The image or reflection of the point (x1,y1) in the line ax+by+c=0 is (h,k) where (h-x1)/a=(k-y1)/b= -2(ax1+by1+c)/(a2+b2) (4) and 5   more ...
