Topic : Why internet breaks down when a news cracks?

It happens time and time again: when news breaks, the Internet slows. It's quite obvious at this point that the Internet has muscled its way into the lives of anyone who needs information. And Michael Jackson's death Thursday had as great an impact on the Internet as anything in the history of the medium that didn't involve the World Trade Center. The statistics are amazing: Akamai said worldwide Internet traffic was 11 percent higher than normal during the peak hours between 3 p.m. PDT and 4 p.m., when news of Jackson's death was breaking. That traffic forced even Google to its knees for a brief period of time Thursday afternoon. In a way, it took the

China is tighting the screws on the internet users.Top U.S. officials have urged China to abandon a controversial plan requiring all new personal computers to be sold with Internet filtering software from next week, warning the step could violate world trade rules. China has the world's biggest online community but foreign companies seeking to do business there have faced charges of bowing to censorship rules in their hunt for market access. China's government uses Internet controls to prevent its citizens accessing online information that it considers morally corrupting or politically sensitive, or to rein in potentially destabilising online trends like fer

Neckties are the very essence of Men's Clothing and especially the formal one. These have been around since thousands of years ago. It was during the reign of China’s first emperor when historians unearthed replicas of the ruler’s terracotta warriors and found that they wore large bandanna-like cloths around their necks. Thus, the world’s earliest neckties were conceived. Nowadays, neckties are favored by males from a variety of occupations. From skinny ties, broad ties, knotted ties and ties that are made from a wide array of materials, most executives now cannot imagine a world where these pivotal fashion accessories for men do not exist. The world of technology is evolving with the rapid speed and so are the needs of the user. So, keeping these things in mind along with the popularity of fast internet connections that are virtually always on has enabled software vendors to embed automated update mechanisms into many desktop programs. Though some users may find these updates cumbersome, most have come to accept the daily routine of updating their antivirus software and periodically installing critical Windows updates. However, the generalization of automated software updates may ultimately create security issues for organizations. Who knows what updates are being pushed to user desktops and how they a

Topic : Mobile OS comparative study: Palm Vs Symbian

Before thinking about switching from Palm to Symbian OS or vice versa one should at least have a glimpse of this comparison. Symbian OS has a few quirks, which one should know about whether one is switching from Palm OS or any other operating system. A prime example is that Symbian OS uses its own exception-handling mechanism: Leaving. Any function with an "L" at the end of its name can leave. Given limited memory, one can count on a lot of memory exceptions or 'leaves' during the development process. Efficient memory management is the key to avoid leaving the program in a memory muddle. Fortunately, Symbian OS also provides a "Cleanup stack&q

Here is a thought. If in the present times, the God himself comes to earth ! ...what would be the worlds reaction to it ? Interesting .....isn't it ?Well, the first thing that strikes my mind is how will he look like ? Will he look like Morgan Freeman who played him in the movie? :P Or will it be a 'she' ?Let's not get involved in a gender bias ! Will it appear as Jesus or Buddha or Ram or Krishna or Bramha or like the numerous other forms which i didn't mention here ? And moreover, where exactly will it appear or will it be yet another reincarnation in a human form ? If that's the case, which religion will the god opt for for his reincarnati

Most of the people at some point consider themselves as serious investors, so they consider different ways to make the most of earned interest in the banking sector. In other words, they get interested in finding a better account with larger interest-earning potential. Yet, the quest for high interest accounts can be a difficult one in an industry that is highly competitive. Finding the right high-interest checking or savings account can be a bold move but it is one with obvious benefits over sticking with a traditional interest-rate bearing account. The first question might be where to begin ones quest. For those who have done some homework, it is no mystery that st

Viruses and malware are the bitter truth of the computer world and many people keep on working to resolve these problems. There are only two ways to remove malicious software from an infected Windows machine: with the infected operating system running or not.The easy way, of course, is from within the infected copy of Windows. Just download anti-malware software, install it, run it and get on with your life. The problem is, this may not work.Much of today’s malicious software features very technically sophisticated defenses against detection. Recently researchers at the University of California at Santa Barbara took control of the Torpig botnet and wrote a pap
