The pillar of Quantum..............
Schrodinger Equation The Schrodinger equation plays the role of Newton's laws and conservation of energy in classical mechanics - i.e., it predicts the future behavior of a dynamic system. It is a wave equation in terms of the wavefunction which predicts analytically and precisely the probability of events or outcome. The detailed outcome is not strictly determined, but given a large number of events, the Schrodinger equation will predict the distribution of results. The kinetic and potential energies are transformed into the Hamiltonian which acts upon the wavefunction to generate the evolution of the wavefunction in time and space. The Schrodinger equation give   more ...

The JEE Guide
JEE is an exam which requires a high level of perfection in all respects - particularly in memory, logic, speed, and quantitaive analysis. Such perfection requires constant practice. Here, I would like to provide tips which may help my friends clear this exam.Disclaimer: Though I have got a good rank of 96, my beginning (from X) was pretty ordinary - so I expect this guide to help the majority of students. Also, since I'm not a qualified instructor, I can only give my personal point of view.Books:Maths - Any good book will do, just as long as it has thousands of problems (I'm serious). But here are some of the books I know and have used:NCERT, Tata McGraw Hi   more ...      [ 1, 2, 3 ]

Concept of reduced mass.......
Reduced Mass The relative motion of two objects that are acted upon by a central force can be described by Newton's 2nd Law as if they were a single mass with a value called the "reduced mass". From Newton's 3rd Law :   The relative acceleration of the two masses is   Since a2 is negative, this can be rewritten in terms of the magnitudes of the quantities: Rate if useful...........    more ...

A non exhausting list of series expansion.......
A Maclaurin series is a Taylor series expansion of a function about 0,  (1)  Maclaurin series are named after the Scottish mathematician Maclaurin. The Maclaurin series of a function up to order may be found using Series[f, x, 0, n]. Maclaurin series are a type ofseries expansionin which all terms are nonnegative integer powers of the variable. Other more general types of series include theLaurent seriesand thePuiseux series.Maclaurin series for common functions include    more ...

Short cut for finding circumcentre when three vertices are given
Ex: Find the circumcentre of the triangle formed by the points (-2,3) (2,-1) and (4,0)Shift the origin to (-2,3) then the transformed vertices are (0,0) (4,-4) (6,-3)2x1      2y1       -(x12 +y12)      2x12x2      2y2       -(x22 +y22)      2y2      1        2                  3Circumcentre = (2/1 , 3/1)   Where 1=(2x1)(2y2) - (2x2)(2y1)In the above example we get 8   -8   -32    more ...

Biot Savart Law
Biot-Savart LawThe Biot-Savart Law relates magnetic fields to the currents which are their sources. In a similar manner, Coulomb's law relates electric fields to the point charges which are their sources. Finding the magnetic field resulting from a current distribution involves the vector product, and is inherently a calculus problem when the distance from the current to the field point is continuously changing. . Some examples of geometries where the Biot-Savart law can be used to advantage in calculating the magnetic field resulting from an electric current distributi   more ...

All about resistors...........
Resistance The electrical resistance of a circuit component or device is defined as the ratio of the voltage applied to the electric current whichflows through it: If the resistance is constant over a considerable range of voltage, then Ohm's law, I = V/R, can be used to predict the behavior of the material. Although the definition above involves DC current and voltage, the same definition holds for the AC application of resistors. Whether or not a material obeys Ohm's law, its resistan   more ...
