Plastic Magnet
Plastic Magnet   A plastic magnet is a non-metallic magnet made from an organic polymer. One example is PANiCNQ, which is a combination of emeraldine-based polyaniline (PANi) and tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ). When it was created by researchers at the University of Durham in 2004 it was the first magnetic polymer to function at room temperature. PANi is a conductive polymer that is stable in air. When combined with the free radical forming TCNQ as an acceptor molecule it can mimic the mechanism of metallic magnets. The magnetic properties arise from the fully pi-conjugated nitrogen-containing backbone combined with molecular charge transfer side groups. Th   more ...

wana clear iit try these!
1. A beam of protons with a velocity of ยด 5 4 10 m/s enters a uniform magnetic field of 0.3 tesla at an angle of o 60 to the magnetic field. Find the radius of the helical path taken the proton beam. Also find the pitch of the helix. (IIT-JEE 1986)   2. A wire of length ?L? m carrying a current ?i? is bent in the form of a circle. What is its magnetic moment? (IIT-JEE 1987)   3. Two long straight parallel wires are 2 m apart, perpendicular to the plane of the paper. The wire A carries a current of 9.6 A directed into the plane of the paper. The wire B carries a current such that the magnetic field of induction at the point P, at a distance 10   more ...

magnetite nano
FERROFLUIDS are a suspension of magnetite particles in a medium in such a way that each magnetite molecule does not touch another.it has many uses in sound tech, space tech etc. since application of a magnetic field can change it's apparent density.here's a cool video showng magnetic fields acting on ferrofluidhttp://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7932498063864415301BTW i made some ferrofluid myself....   more ...
